DHAKA, Nov 23, 2023 (BSS) - Planning Secretary Satyajit Karmarakar today said that the ongoing development activities in the country would not be affected due to the upcoming general election.

He also informed that the ongoing development projects are also witnessing usual disbursement of funds.

The planning secretary said this while addressing a view-exchange meeting with the members of Development Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (DJFB) held at its office on the premises of Planning Commission in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

Presided over by DJFB president Hamid-Uz-Zaman, its vice president Masum Billah spoke on the occasion moderated by DJFB general secretary Shahanuare Shaid Shahin.

Satyajit said although the Election Commission has given some restrictions on taking new projects as well as allocating fund against those, but there is no bar in implementing ongoing projects.

"I've already talked with the concerned stakeholders in this regard," he added.

Noting that the mass media always work for ensuring the welfare of country and the nation, the Planning Secretary said that all the members of DJFB are working with utmost professionalism.
