SUNAMGANJ, Nov 25, 2023 (BSS) - Bangabandhu Parishad President and former

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University (DU) AAMS Arefin Siddique today urged the
students to acquire knowledge in all disciplines including science and
technology to contribute in transforming the country into 'Smart Bangladesh'.

"To cope up with the global competition and march forward, girls should be
more dedicated towards pursuing higher education along with boys," he said.

Dr Arefin said these while speaking at a seminar titled 'A collective effort
to improve the education of underprivileged girls' as the chief guest at
Derai upazila in the district.

Bangladesh Female Academy (BFA), a private local educational institution,
organized the seminar with its Principal Nazma Begum in the chair.

Women are now moving ahead keeping pace with men, both in the national and
international arena, Dr Arefin said, adding this seminar will play a vital
role in improving women education.

BFA Chairman Jamil Chowdhury delivered welcome address at the seminar while
educationist Mirana Sultan spoke as the special guest.
