DHAKA, Sept 8, 2021 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) Advisory Council member and
former political advisor to the Prime Minister valiant freedom fighter Dr SA
Malek and Professor ABM Faroque have been made president and general
secretary respectively of the Bangabandhu Parishad central committee.

  The new executive body of the organization was announced on Tuesday at a
meeting of the parishad's outgoing committee at its central office in the
city's Kolabagan area, said a press release issued here today.

  Other office bearers are: joint general secretaries - Dr Sheikh Abdullah Al
Mamun, Matiur Rahman Laltu, Professor Firoz Ahmed, Kazi Rehan Sobhan and
Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, organizing secretaries - Advocate MA Salam (Dhaka
Division), Dr Liaquat Ali Moral (Barishal), Mohammad Shahidullah (Sylhet), Dr
Ayubur Rahman (Chattogram), Engineer Mainur Rahman (Khulna), Lutfar Rahman
(Rajshahi), Khandaker Nazrul Islam (Mymensingh) and Mashiur Rahman (Rangpur),
Treasurer Jalal Uddin Tuhin, Information and Research Secretary Dr Arun Kumar
Guswami, Assistant Information and Research Secretary Mahmudul Haque, Legal
Affairs Secretary Dr Shahjahan Mandal, Health and Population Affairs
Secretary Tariqul Alam, Education and Human Resources Affairs Secretary
Professor Syed Shamsuddin Ahmed, Women Affairs Secretary Dr Purabi Rani
Debnath, Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary Nesar Ahmed Bhuiyan.

   Executive members are: Professor Imran Kabir Chowdhury, Professor Dr Golam
