DHAKA, Dec 7, 2023 (BSS) -In order to issue passports to expatriate Bangladeshis in Malaysia easily and quickly, it has been decided to appoint an outsourcing company following the models of many developed countries.

To this end, Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur recently signed an agreement with Expat Services Limited (ESL) Company in view of the directives of the Ministries of Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh to ensure expatriate-friendly citizen services through information technology, a press release said here today.

ESL Company is a registered company in Bangladesh as well as Malaysia, the release added.

The company has leased an approximately 14,000 square feet building at Jalan Dua Chan Sow Lin (next to the City Center) in the heart of Kuala Lumpur as a 'One Stop Service Centre' to provide e-passport and conduct Bangladesh visa application services to Malaysians and other nationalities.

In the existing situation, the High Commission feels that it is a time befitting decision to appoint an outsourcing company to make passport and visa services easier and faster under the guidance of the government on the model of 'Public-Private Partnership' concept.

According to the release, the preparation to start e-passport activities of Bangladesh in Malaysia is now nearing completion.

ESL will mainly carry out various tasks related to e-passport application processing since the launch of the e-passport program, said in the release.
