DHAKA, Dec 13, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Cumilla city mayor and city unit of AL general secretary Arfanul Haque Rifat.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Rifat passed away while undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore this evening at 65.

Rifat is survived by wife, a son and two daughters, family sources said.
