DHAKA, Dec 15, 2023 (BSS) - The Awami League has drawn up elaborate programmes to celebrate Victory Day tomorrow.
To mark the day, the national flag and party flag will be hoisted atop the AL central office, Bangabandhu Bhaban and offices of all organizational units of the party across the country at dawn, said a press release.
The programme includes placing wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar at 6:30 am and paying homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban in the city at 8 am.
An AL delegation will place a wreath at the Mausoleum of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj at 11 am.
AL presidium member Lt. Col. Muhammad Faruk Khan, central working committee member Abul Hasnat Abdullah and Iqbal Hossain Apu will join the event at Tungipara on the day.
On Sunday, a discussion will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) at 11 am.
AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will chair it. Noted intellectuals and national leaders will also address it.
On Monday, a colorful victory procession will be brought out from the historic Suhrawardy Udyan at 2:30 pm and it will end at Dhanmondi-32.
All organizational units of AL and its associate bodies will bring out colorful processions across the country on the day in line with the central programme.
Party general secretary Obaidul Quader has urged the people as well as the leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies to celebrate the day in a befitting manner.
