DHAKA, Dec 16, 2023 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Navy today celebrated the 53rd Victory Day in a befitting manner in all its regions.

On the occasion of the day, all mosques under the region of the Bangladesh Navy offered special munajat after Johr prayers, seeking eternal peace of departed souls of all martyrs of the Great War of Liberation in 1971, according to a press release issued by the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) department.

The Navy also sought progress and prosperity of the country.
On the occasion of Victory Day, the Bangladesh Navy also arranged special discussions, recitation, quiz and art competition with participation of students from schools and colleges run by Navy.

The regional commander of Khulna of Bangladesh Navy presented a guard of honour to graves of Bir Sreshatha Shaheed Ruhul Amin and Bir Bikram Shaheed Mohibullah and placed wreaths on the occasion.
 
The Bangladesh Navy kept warships at different ports and jetties across the country open to visitors marking Victory Day.
