DHAKA, Dec 18, 2023 (BSS) - The deadline for firearms license renewal has been extended from January 15 to February 28, 2024 instead of December 31, 2023 on the occasion of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections slated for January 7.

Public Security Division of the Home Affairs Ministry issued a notification, saying that the deadline has been extended as per the Section 31 (a) of the Firearms Licensing, Renewal and Use Policy, 2016, said an official handout here today.

The notification said that this order will be applicable only for the renewal of firearms of the year 2023. 

At the directive of Election Commission (EC), it said, Public Security Division issued the notification.
