MAGURA, Dec 20, 2023 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has taken

preparation to offer the nation a free and fair Jatiya Sangsad election and
voters will give vote according to their choice as the EC will maintain zero
tolerance against all anti-polls activities, said Election Commissioner
Brigadier General (Rtd) Md Ahsan Habib Khan.

"We've taken preparation to offer the nation a free and fair election in
cooperation of all. We hope voters will cast their vote according to their
choice," he told reporters after a view-exchange meeting with returning
officers, assistant returning officers and law enforcement officials here
today.  

He said it is the responsibility of candidates to bring voters to the polling
centres and the EC-administration will ensure a peaceful atmosphere so that
voters can exercise their right of franchise freely.

The EC has decided to maintain zero tolerance against anti-election
activities, he said, adding anyone trying to create anarchy, will not be
spared.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Magura Abu Nase Begum chaired the meeting while DC
of Jhenidah district SM Rafiqul Islam and police super Azimul Ahsan, DC of
Narail district Mohammad Ashfaqul Haque and police super Mohammad Hasan,
Magura district police super Mashiuddoula Reza, among others, attended the
meeting.
