DHAKA, Sept 9, 2021 (BSS) - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said that there is a huge potentiality for youths to contribute to the spread of sustainable and renewable energy.

  "With the right platform, youth can also contribute to the spread of sustainable and renewable energy," he said.

  The state minister was virtually speaking at the inaugural function of a competition titled 'Bikiron (Radiation)' to develop innovative ideas on sustainable energy in the city as the chief guest, a press release said.

  He said that it is necessary to increase the use of energy efficient technology and renewable energy side by side with ensuring efficient and optimal use of energy in daily life to build a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy system.

  There are renewable energy policies, he said, adding that the year based plan has been adopted and it has to be implemented in time.

   With chairman of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (Sreda) Mohammad Alauddin in the chair, the programme was also addressed, among others, Power Secretary Md Habibur Rahman.
