National polls will be fair, impartial: Selim

GOPALGANJ, Dec 22, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) presidium member and party candidate for Gopalganj-2 constituency, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP, today said the national election will be fair and impartial and there will be no rigging in the polls.

He said this during an exchange of views with journalists working in Gopalganj at his own residence in Tungipara of the district.

He said, ''If you want to change the government, you have to come to the election. There is no alternative to election''.

In response to a question about BNP's election boycott, Sheikh Selim said BNP has announced a "non-cooperation movement". BNP is making attempts to create anarchy and disorder in the name of non-cooperation.

Selim said Awami League is perpetuating people's right to vote. Nothing will happen beyond the constitution and burning people in trains is not democracy, he added.

"Even the future generations will not know that there was an organization called BNP'' Sheikh Selim said.
