DHAKA, Dec 25, 2023 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Fazlur Rahman, chairman of Somoy TV and City Group, one of the leading commodity importers and processors in the country.
 
In a message of condolence, Dr Hasan said the eminent industrialist built an empire of 40 companies, over the last five decades with businesses ranging from flour, sugar, edible oil, feed and rice milling.

The minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
 
Fazlur Rahman passed away at a city hospital in the early hours of today. He was 77.

He is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters.
