DHAKA, Dec 25, 2023 (BSS) - The Election Commission invited heads of embassies and missions stationed in Dhaka and UNDP resident representative to join a meeting with the commission on January 4 to brief them about the general election to be held on January 7.

EC secretariat director (public relations) Md Shariful Alam told BSS that the commission will hold the meeting in a city hotel.

The EC, he said, will inform the heads of foreign missions and international organisations and the resident representative of UNDP in Dhaka about its steps in holding the next election in a free, fair and acceptable manner.

The EC also requested the foreign secretary to take necessary measures to invite the diplomats and ensure their presence in the meeting.
