DHAKA, Dec 26, 2023 (BSS) - Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in city's Jatrabari and Khilgaon areas today.

The deceased were identified as Md Easin, 20, son of Montu Hawlader, a resident of Jatrabari area in the city and Mirajul alias Razul Islam Ratul, 25, son of Md. Danis Khandokar of Jaypara village under Dohar police station, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Jatrabari police station Bazlur Rahaman said that a young man named Easin was killed in a road accident in Shoniakhra area of Jatrabari police station around 7:30am and the body was sent to DMCH morgue for post- mortem.
 
Ratul's uncle Shipon Mia said that Ratul was standing with the motorcycle on the road in front of Maradia Bazar around 11:30pm on Monday night.

 The accident took place when a pickup van hit the motorcycle from behind and he fell of the motorcycle and got seriously injured.

He was immediately rescued and taken to the emergency department of DMCH, where the duty doctor declared him dead around 12midnight.

Inspector Bachchu Mia said that the body was kept on the mortuary of the DMCH for post-mortem.

Separate legal actions have been taken in this regard.
