DHAKA, Dec 28, 2023 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives arrested 14 persons with local weapons, while preparing for robbery and snatching, from capital's Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi and Hajaribagh area on Wednesday night. 

The arrested robbers are Md. Rifat, 20, Shakil, 20, Tarek, 26, Likhon, 38, Durjoy, 19, and snatchers are Md. Akash, 20, Md. Rubel Hawlader, 20, Md. Babul, 45, Ali Ahammad,35, Sah-Jalal,36, Arif Shikder,25,Rasel Sarder,22, Md. Ridoy,22 and Rejoyan,25.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB-2 conducted separate drives in Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi and Hajaribagh police stations' area of the capital last night and arrested them with local weapons, Senior ASP and Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-2 Shihab Karim told BSS today.

They all are from Bhola, Shariatpur, Sunamganj, Sherpur, Keraniganj, Mymensingh, Barisal, Lakshipur, Kishoreganj, Narayanganj, Madaripur and Patuakhali districts, RAB officials said.

Necessary legal actions have been taken against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
