RAJSHAHI, Dec 30, 2023 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an

anti-crime operation, recovered 41 cocktails in an abandoned conditions in
Sundarpur area under Shibganj upazila in Chapaianwabganj district last night.
 
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid in the area
around 8 pm and recovered the cocktails.

Lieutenant colonel Munim Ferdous, commanding officer of RAB-5, told
journalists that the cocktails might be used in subversive activities ahead
of the upcoming national election in the district.

In the recent past, some miscreants had created panic among the public in
general through blasting cocktails in some key point installations, including
Election Commission Office, DC Office, Chief Judicial Magistrate Office and
Tennis Complex in the district.

Being informed, the RAB members recovered the cocktails in an abandoned
condition, Munim Ferdous added.

"We are very much active in this regard so that none can dare to create
unstable situations ahead of the forthcoming national election," he opined.
