DHAKA, Dec 31, 2023 (BSS) - Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed today felicitated 'Bronze' Medal winners of the 19th Asian Games men's and women's cricket teams at army headquarters here.

On the occasion, Shafiuddin, also the President of Bangladesh Olympic Association, presented a cheque for Taka 30 lakh to the medal winning men and women cricket teams on behalf of Bangladesh Olympic Association as chief guest, said an ISPR press release.

A cheque for Tk six lakh was also given to the officials.

The men's and women's cricket teams won two bronze medals at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China from 23 September, 2023 to 8 October, 2023.

This honor by the Army Chief will encourage the accomplished players of the country and inspire the budding players, the release added.
