NETRAKONA, Jan 7, 2024 (BSS) - Ruling Awami League (AL) nominated candidates
secured victory in four constituencies out of five of the district in the
12th parliamentary elections that concluded on Sunday.
Meanwhile, an independent candidate (Truck) won in one constituency here.
Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer of the district Shahed Parvez
announced the unofficial results tonight.
The AL-nominated candidates-- Mustak Ahmed Ruhi, Asharf Ali Khan Khasru,
Sajjadul Hasan and Ahmed Hussain-- secured victory from Netrakona-1,
Netrakona-2, Netrakona-4 and Netrakona-5 constituencies respectively and an
independent candidate Iftekhar Uddin Talukder Pintu won in Netrakona-3
constituency.
In Netrakona-1 constituency: Mustak Ahmed Ruhi bagged 1,59,019 votes with
"Boat" symbol while his nearest rival Jannatual Ferdous Ara secured 25,219
votes with "Truck" symbol.
In Netrakona-2 constituency: Asharf Ali Khan Khasru secured the victory in
the polls by getting 1,05,353 votes with "Boat" symbol while his closest
contestant Arif Khan Joy bagged 86,287 votes with "Eagle" symbol.
In Netrakona-3 constituency: independent candidate Iftekhar Uddin Talukder
Pintu won in the election by securing 76,803 votes with "Truck" symbol while
his nearest rival Asim Kumar Ukil got 74,550 votes with "Boat" symbol.
In Netrakona-4 constituency: Sajjadul Hasan won by bagging 1,88,068 votes
with "Boat" symbol while his closest rival Advocate Likat Ali Khan got 5,759
votes with "Plough" symbol.
In Netrakona-5 constituency: Ahmed Hussain secured victory in the polls by
getting 79,647 votes with "Boat" symbol while his nearest contestant Majharul
Islam Suhel Fakir bagged 27,214 votes with "Truck" symbol.
