SYLHET, Jan 16, 2024 (BSS) - State Minister for Ministry of Expatriates'

Welfare and Overseas Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury today said he would
work for the welfare and safety of the lives and the properties of the
expatriates'.

"Flow of remittance can be multiplied even more by sending skilled workers
abroad. We should give formation of skilled manpower the utmost importance in
this case," he said and urged all to extend their helping hands to ensure no
harassment of expatriates' at home and abroad and protection of their lives
and properties.

The state minister said these while addressing a views exchange meeting with
government officials of divisional and district levels, leaders of political,
social, cultural arenas and journalist leaders at Sylhet Deputy
Commissioner's office this afternoon.

Presided over by Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Russel Hasan, the meeting
was addressed by Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Abu Ahmed Siddiqui, Sylhet
City Corporation Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Superintendant of Police Md
Abdullah Al Mamun, Awami League presidium member Syeda Zebunnesa Haque and
Sylhet city Awami League president Mashuk Uddin Ahmed, among others.
