TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, Jan 18, 2024 (BSS) - Dr Pran Gopal Dutta, Member of Parliament (MP) from Cumilla-7 constituency, today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

After laying the wreath, the Member of Parliament stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.

Later, he offered prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.

A special prayer was also offered seeking longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.

He signed the visitors' book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.

Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Moinul Haque, Dr. Pran Gopal Dutta's daughter Anindita Dutta, former mayor of Chandina Pourashava of Cumilla district Mofizul Islam, Chandina Upazila Mohila Vice Chairman Safia Akhter, relief affairs secretary of Chandina Pourashava Awami League Ali Hossain, Chandina Pourashava Swechasebak League President Hamidur Rahman Jony, among others, were present, on the occasion.
