DHAKA, Jan 21, 2024 (BSS) - Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay
Verma today made a courtesy call on Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud
Humayun at his office at the Industries Ministry in the city.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues related to mutual
interests, including development of bilateral relations and trade and
commerce, said a press release.
In the meeting, both sides expressed hope to continue cooperation in
expanding trade and business.
In his speech, Humayun laid emphasis on increasing cooperation of Bangladesh
Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Bangladesh Association of Banks
(BAB) with similar organizations in India.
"We can take cooperation from India in technology and supply of raw materials
for cement production," he added.
Mentioning the SME sector as the backbone of the economy for both countries,
Pranay Verma said, Bangladesh and India can learn from each other for
developing the sector.
He informed that training opportunities for Bangladeshis are increasing in
various institutes in India including ITEC.
