RAJSHAHI, Jan 24, 2024 (BSS) - Four literary and cultural personalities and an organization were awarded and accorded a reception in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the cultural arena.

 
Rajshahi Shilpakala Academy organised the reception programme at its auditorium on Tuesday evening.
 
The award winning persons are- Valiant Freedom Fighter Prof Ruhul Amin Pramanik (Literary), ANM Ameeruzzaman (Drama), Shahina Parveen (Song) and Abdur Rahim (Stage Drama) and Rajshahi Abrity Parishad (creative cultural activities).

Each of the recipients was given Taka 20,000, wrapper, certificate and crest.
 
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir attended the ceremony as chief guest, drama personality Prof Moloy Bhowmik and social worker Shaheen Akhter Rainy as special guests with Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed in the chair.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Dr Humayun Kabir said the contribution of the cultural persons is very significant to nation-building activities. He told the audience that the present government has been working relentlessly to this end.
 
The award-giving ceremony was followed by a cultural function performed by famous artistes.
