TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, Jan 27, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central committee today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

Members of BCL central committee led by its President Saddam Hossain and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan placed a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara this afternoon.

More than 500 leaders and activist of BCL were present.

After laying the wreath, the BCL leaders stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of Bangladesh's Independence.

Later, they offered prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975. 

A special prayer was also offered wishing for longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.

BCL President Saddam Hossain and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan signed the visitors' book there.

Later, various district and upazila units of Chhatra League today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
