TUNGIPARA, Jan 29, 2024 (BSS) - Non-resident ambassadors and high commissioners of 14 countries to Bangladesh have paid their glowing tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
Upon laying wreaths at the altar of the mausoleum, the envoys stood in silence beside for some time.
Then they joined special prayers and munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu as well as 1971 Liberation War martyrs.
The non-resident envoys are Gilbert Shimane Magole of Botswana, Koy Kuong of Cambodia, Dr Eliska Zigova of Czech Republic, Mustapha Jawara of Gambia, Istvan Szabo of Hungary, Jason K Hall of Jamaica, Peggy Frantzen of Luxemburg, Ganbold Dambajav of Mongolia, Slobodan Uzunov of North Macedonia, Javier Manuel Paulinich Velarde of Peru, Robert Maxian of Slovak Republic, Mateja Vodeb Ghosh of Slovenia, Alberto A. Guani of Uruguay and Capaya Rodriguez Gonzalez of Venezuela.
Later, the envoys visited the administrative building of the mausoleum and signed the visitor's book kept there.
Earlier, upon their reaching at Tungipara, district and Tungipara upazila administrations welcomed the envoys.
