DHAKA, Feb 01, 2024 (BSS)-Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today paid rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing floral wreaths at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj for reelecting as Speaker of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad.

After paying homage, the Speaker offered munajat and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls of all the martyrs of the family including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Later, Deputy Speaker Advocate Shamsul Huque Tuku, Deputy leader of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS)  Matia Chowdhury, Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury placed floral wreaths at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu.

The newly-appointed Whips-- Iqbalur Rahim, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Shawpan, Saimum Sarwar Kamal, Nazrul Islam Babu and Mashrafi Bin Mortuja, also paid rich tributes at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation.

Besides, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury along with local Pirganj Awami League leaders also placed floral wreaths at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Concerned high officials of the parliament secretariat including Sheikh Helal uddin MP, among others, were also present during the time.
