DHAKA, Feb 7, 2024 (BSS) - Prime Minister of Malta Robert Abela has congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her reelection as Prime Minister of Bangladesh. 

In a letter sent to Sheikh Hasina, the Malta premier wrote, "I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations for Your election victory and reappointment as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for a record fifth term." 

He added, "I would also like to congratulate you on your incredible record as the longest-prime minister in the history of Bangladesh, and on becoming longest-serving female head of government in the world."

He continued, "Your success is a reflection of the advancements Bangladesh has taken under your leadership as well as the esteem you are held in by so many."

For so long, the Republic of Malta and People's Republic of Bangladesh have enjoyed long-standing bilateral relations founding on mutual values of respect and understanding, read the letter.

Robert Abela said that "I am confident that this relationship will continue to flourish in your historic term, for the benefit of both our peoples."

He ended the letter, extending his wishes of good health and further success.
