DHAKA, Feb 7, 2024 (BSS) - The government has reappointed Md Joynal Abedin as the President's press secretary for the next one year on contractual basis.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification today in this regard, saying that his appointment would come into effect on February 11 next or from the date of his joining the office.

Joynal was made press secretary to the President on June 8, 2015 and later appointed press secretary on April 8, 2019, according to section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018.

Earlier, his tenure was extended for two times after his retirement from the job. 

Former principal information officer (PIO) Abedin, an officer of BCS Information Cadre of 1984 batch, discharged his duties in various important government posts during his long service life.

Other conditions of this appointment will be determined by the earlier approved contract, the notification added.
