COX'S BAZAR, Feb 08, 2024 (BSS) - Four people were killed and 10 others injured as a mini-bus and lorry collided head-on on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Lalbridge area under Chakaria upazila here.
The deceased were identified as Abdus Shukkur Munna, 40, of Chattorgram's Patchlaish area, meat trader Basid Ahmed, 35, of Dozahari's Baropara area, Rubida Akther, 26, of Chiringa's Palakata village and driver of the mini-bus Abdul Mannan, 37.
A bus of Eagle Paribahan heading to Chattogram and a Square Pharmaceutical lorry carrying medical supplies coming from the opposite direction, collided leaving three persons dead on spot, police said quoting locals, said Chiringa Highway Police Outpost SI Bhenu Das.
Abdul Mannan died while being taken to hospital. Highway police seized the vehicles, the SI said, adding the injured persons were admitted to Chakaria upazila hospital.
