SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 12, 2024 (BSS) - Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali
today said the country has achieved 87.70 percent of the targeted revenue
till December in the current fiscal year as revenue of over 4.43 lakh crore
has been fixed for current fiscal.
"The internal resource division has achieved 87.70 percent of the targeted
revenue till December 2023 during 2023-24 fiscal year", said the minister
while responding to a star-marked question raised by treasury bench lawmaker
Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed Simul of Chapainawabganj-1 during question-Answer
session at the Jatiya Sangsad here.
In the current fiscal, the revenue income target has been fixed Taka
4,43,617.57 crore, said the minister with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury
in the chair.
At the same time, the country has achieved tax revenue of Taka 1,65,629.75
crore while Taka 1,626 crore also has been achieved from stamp duty during
this time.
The minister, however, mentioned that tax revenue deficiency during this time
was Taka 23,227.19 crore, the minister added.
