SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 12, 2024 (BSS) - Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali today said the government has realized Taka 5,901.65 crore income tax in the fiscal year 2023-2024.

"Lack of public awareness is the reason behind people's apathy in submission of income tax return," he told the parliament in response to a question of an independent lawmaker.

He said lack of technological knowledge of tax payers is also one of the reasons behind people's apathy in income tax return submission.
