KUSHTIA, Feb 13, 2024 (BSS)- Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif has said BNP will never hesitate to ruin the country for their political gain.

He said this after addressing the annual sports competition and prize giving ceremony of a local college here today.

Pointing out the destructive activities of BNP in 2013, Hanif said in the name of movement to halt the trial of the war criminals they (BNP) carried out arson attacks on innocent people.

In the name of resisting national election in 2014 and during post election period BNP indiscriminately destroyed public properties.

He said the judicial system of Bangladesh is independent and the government is determined to hold the trial of any crimes.

The AL leader said Bangladesh became champion in corruption for five consecutive times during BNP’s tenure. On the other hand, the Awami League government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared zero tolerance against corruption, he said.

AL district unit general secretary Azgar Ali and upazila chairman Ataur Rahman, among others, addressed the programme with college managing committee president Md Mozammel Haque in the chair.
