SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 13, 2024 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen today said that almost all types of medicines produced in Bangladesh are exported to 157 countries of the world including Europe and America.

"Bangladesh  almost all types of medicines produced in Bangladesh are exported to 157 countries around the world including Europe and America (USA)", the minister said this while responding to a star-marked question raised by treasury bench lawmaker Anwar Hossen Khan of Lakshmipur-1 during the question-answer session at the Jatiya Sangsad here.

Till December of the current fiscal year (2024-2025), around Taka 5,900 crore of medicines have been exported.

Responding to another star-marked question, the health minister said the government will take initiative to set up national burn and plastic surgery units in all district headquarters in phases.
