Govt giving 10 percent incentives for increasing medicine export, Sen tells JS

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 13, 2024 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister
Professor Dr Samanta Lal Sen today said the government is giving 10 percent
incentives for increasing export volume in the pharmaceutical sector of the
country.

 "We are giving incentives to the pharmaceutical sector for encouraging them
to increase export volume of medicine," he made the comments in reply to a
written question of independent lawmaker Muhammad Saiful Islam in the
parliament.

The health minister said pharmaceutical industry is gradually improving as
the government has created a congenial atmosphere for advancement of the
crucial sector.

"Locally produced medicines make up 98 percent demands of the country . . .
almost all types of medicines are being exported to 157 countries including
Europe and America," Samanta added.
