RANGAMATI, Feb 15, 2024 (BSS) - Three people were killed and two others injured when a lorry hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Rangamati-Chattogram road in Salbagan area under Sadar upazila of the district today.
Two of the deceased were identified as passengers of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw Md Nabir Hossain and Md Hanif, both residents of Swarntila village in Rangamati town, while the identity of another could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred when a Chattogram-bound lorry from Rangamati hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, the lorry and the CNG fell into a road side deep ditch in the area around 10:30am, leaving one passenger of the CNG dead on the spot and four others injured, additional superintendent of Rangamati Police, Maruf Ahmed said.
The injured were taken to Rangamati Sadar Hospital, where on-duty doctor declared two of them dead, he said.
Later, rests of the injured were shifted to Chattogram Medical Collage and Hospital for better treatment, he added.
