DHAKA, Feb 16, 2024 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) Organizing Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi today said a vested quarter is hatching conspiracy to destroy development of the government, but they can't do it at all.

"Anti-Liberation Forces want to destroy development of the present government," he told a discussion arranged marking the 82th birth anniversary of Dr. M. A. Wazed Miah at Jatiya Press Club.

Sujit Roy said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly for the country's development and she wants to make a smart Bangladesh.

"We will work under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for implementing dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," he added.
 
The AL leader also said Dr. M. A. Wazed Miah was a selfless, an honest and patriotic person. "We should follow the ideology of Wazed Miah," he said.
 
Three persons were awarded with Dr.M.A.Wazed Miah gold medal for their contribution to different fields.

The recipients are Poet Razu Anarjo, former footballer Sujit Kumar Banerjee Chandon and athlete Zakir Hossain Chowdhury.
 
President of Dr.M.A.Wazed Miah Memorial Foundation AKM Farhadul Kabir presided over the function while Advocate Md. Abdus Salam, vice-president of the organization AK Borhanuddin, its general secretary Md. Moshiur Rahman and Prof Dr. Md. Shofiur Rahman, among others, spoke.
