KHULNA, Feb 17, 2024 (BSS)-Senior Secretary to the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry Mustafizur Rahman today said citizens’ voice can help to prevent terrorism, fundamentalism and extremism from society.
“United voice against wrong doing can curb terrorism and extremism across the country,” he made the remark while speaking at an awareness building meeting on ‘Role of Public Representatives and Stakeholders to control extremism,’ at Khulna Shilpokola Academy auditorium here as chief guest.
Terrorism Control and International Crime Protection Center Building Project of Bangladesh Police and Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) jointly organized the meeting in cooperation with Khulna District Administration, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) and Khulna District Police.
Police with the support of citizens can be controlled the country’s terrorism, fundamentalism and extremism under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Chaired by Khulna divisional commissioner Md Helal Mahmud Sharif, KMP Commissioner Md Mozammel Haque, Khulna Range DIG Md Moinul Haque, addressed as special guests and Pro-vice chancellor of Islamic University of Dhaka addressed the meeting as guest of honour.
Chief of the CTTC of the DMP Md Asaduzzaman delivered the welcome speech. A video documentary on terrorism, fundamentalism and extremism was screened at the beginning of the event.
Freedom Fighters, Government Officials, Islamic scholars, members of the law enforcement agencies, public representatives, teacher, students, professional and women leaders, among others, participated in the open discussion later.
