DHAKA, Feb 20, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh and Ghana today discussed on various
aspects on contract farming by Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in the vast land of
this African nation to make a win win situation of both the country in creating
employment opportunity as well as ensuring food security.
The discussion was made while foreign minister Dr Hasan Mahmud held a meeting
with the visiting Ghanaian foreign affairs and regional integration minister
Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey at the foreign ministry.
During the meeting, Bangladesh minister proposed that if Ghana will give
lease its land to Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, they can invest there for agro
production which contributes in global food security, foreign ministry's
official said.
Mahmud also urged his Ghanaian counterpart to import Bangladesh made world
standard products like pharmaceuticals, jute and jute products.
The Ghananian foreign minister proposed to conduct exchange visit between
business bodies of both the countries.
The two ministers also discussed on upcoming election of commonwealth general
secretary to be held in Samoa in October this year.
