DHAKA, Feb 22, 2024 (BSS) - The English version of the book “Egiye Jabe Bangladesh (Bangladesh will Go a Long Way)" written by President Mohammed Shahabuddin has been published.
 
The owner and publisher of the Agami Publication Valiant Freedom fighter Osman Gani and the editor-coordinator of the book former dean and researcher of Pabna University of Science and Technology Dr M Abdul Alim formally handed over the book to the President at a ceremony at Bangabhaban here today.
 
In the ceremony, President Mohammed Shahabuddin thanked all concerned for publishing the English version of his book ‘Egiye Jabe Bangladesh’.
 
Through the book, the readers would be able to know about Bangabandhu and the Liberation War, the history of Bangladesh Awami League, Sheikh Hasina's leadership, the imaginary corruption centering the Padma Bridge, contemporary politics, socio-economic reality and the development of Bangladesh, he hoped.
 
His efforts will be worthwhile if he gets readership and will get more interest and inspiration for writing in days to come, the Head of State added.
 
Rich with various informative articles, this book  covers the whole life of President Shahabuddin from his childhood; his struggle, politics, liberation war, prison life, work life, family life, philosophy and everything.
 
The 232-page book contains twenty-one columns and memoirs written by Shahabuddin, three interviews and a long essay on his life.
 
Besides, some rare and historical photographs of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman have been added to the book.
 
President's Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin, Secretary (Attached) Md Wahidul Islam Khan and translator of the book Professor Dulal Al Mansoor of Commerce College, among others, were present on the occasion.
 
 Book Publisher of the Agami Publication Valiant Freedom Fighter Md Osman Gani said in this book, the President has recorded his memorial writings such as Bangabandhu's blessings, political activities, Bangabandhu's companionship, political activities of the Sheikh Hasina-led government and his thoughts to move the country forward.
 
Researcher Prof Dr M Abdul Alim said, the book is an exact collection of articles and writings published at different times.
 
He said a broad-based identity of the president's personal life and his contemporary political events, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangladesh's Liberation War as well as the development activities of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are there in the book.
