DHAKA, Feb 22, 2024 (BSS) - BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists will submit a memorandum to the state minister for information and broadcasting on February 27 in support of its demand for immediate formation of 10th Wage Board and implementation of the Ninth Wage Board Award.
Announcing the programme at a rally held in front of the Nation Press Club here, BFUJ president Omar Faruque said the apex body of journalists will hold a rally before submitting the memorandum on February 27 as part of its ongoing movement.
Besides, the BFUJ president announced to hold a rally in Barishal at 11am on February 29.
Speaking at the today’s rally, the BFUJ leaders also demanded introducing identical wage structure for all electronic media, including Television channels, online and radio and payment of arrears of the 9th Wage Board Award.
With BFUJ president Omar Faruque in the chair, the rally was addressed, among others, by journalist leaders Manzurul Ahsan Bulbul, Sheikh Mamunur Rashid, Khairuzzaman Kamal, Sohel Haider Chowdhury, Kuddus Afrad, Sazzad Alam Khan Topu and Khairul Alam, Karmachari Federation leaders Motiur Rahman Talukdar and Khirul Islam, Sramik Federation leaders Alamgir Hossain and Masudul Ahsan, Nari Sangbadik leaders Nasimun Ara Haque Minu, Nasima Soma, Ummul Wara Sweety and Nure Jannat Akter Sima.
