DHAKA, Feb 25, 2024 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Professor Dr
Samanta Lal Sen today found irregularities about different activities at the
Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD) at Tejgaon here.
Accompanied by senior officials of the health ministry, Samanta suddenly
visited the CMSD to oversee its overall situation, an official release said.
During the 35-minute visit, the health minister found emergency healthcare
items lying unused and dates of many healthcare essentials have been expired.
At that time, CMSD officials could not answer most of the questions the
minister asked.
Coming across the irregularities, the health minister directed the depot
officials to submit a report to him in the next seven days, explaining why
such a large number of healthcare products remained unused.
In the report, he also asked to include a list of all the existing goods, on
which date they were delivered here and when other goods will be delivered in
future.
Secretary of Health Service Division Md Jahangir Alam and Director General of
the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr ABM Khurshid Alam,
among others, were present during the visit.
