DHAKA, Feb 29, 2024 (BSS) - President Mohammed Shahabuddin has hoped that the scout movement would play an important and fruitful role in building a 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041 by building the young and talented people of the country as skilled citizens.
The President expressed this hope in a message given on the occasion of "Golden Jubilee Rover Moot-2024" on the golden jubilee of Bangladesh Scouts Rover Region on March 1.
He urged the scout leaders to make all-out effort to spread the scout movement nationwide and inspire the youth in scout ideals and education.
Mohammed Shahabuddin said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a dream that the country would be a happy, prosperous, exploitation-free Sonar Bangla.
In order to fulfill that dream, the youth should be developed as honest, ideal and skilled human resources, he added.
The President said Bangladesh Scouts has been working to develop the youth of the country as self-reliant, virtuous and ideal citizens through trainings and programmes.
He hoped that the Rover Scouts will always come forward from their respective positions for the development of the country and the welfare of the people being inspired by the slogan, "Pledge of Golden Jubilee, Rover will build Smart Bangladesh" ('Subarna Jayantir Angikar, Smart Bangladesh Gorbe Rover'.
Mohammed Shahabuddin extended best wishes and congratulations to all participants in the Rover Moot.
He also wished the success of "Golden Jubilee Rover Moot 2024".
