DHAKA, March 4, 2024 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mobile court sealed off Keari Crescent Plaza and fined four institutions of the plaza and Rupayan ZR Plaza in Dhanmondi for lack of adequate fire safety measures.

DSCC executive magistrate Jahangir Alam led the drive in Dhanmondi area from afternoon to evening, said a press release of DSCC.

During the drive, most of the restaurants in Keari Crescent Plaza on Sat masjid Road were found closed, it said.  

But one institution named Visa World Wide in the plaza was fined Taka 3 lakh due to the inadequacy of firefighting system.

Besides, the entire Keari Crescent Plaza building was sealed off due to lack of fire extinguishing system.

Later,  another drive was conducted at the neighboring Rupayan ZR Plaza. The Buffet Empire, Buffet Lounge and Buffet Paradise restaurants were fined Taka 1 lakh each due to lack of fire fighting system.

In today's drives, a total of four institutions were fined Taka 6 lakh.

During the operation, Fire Service and Civil Defense Warehouse Inspector Golam Mostafa and other concerned officers were present.
