DHAKA, March 5, 2024 (BSS) – Faruk Khan of Bangladesh Kantha and Afrin Jahan of BTV have been elected president and general secretary respectively of the Shipping Reporters’ Forum Bangladesh (SRFB) for the next two years.

Chief election commissioner of SRFB  polls Mostafa Kajal of Bangladesh Pratidin announced the results after   voting at a city hotel here this afternoon, said a SRFB press release.

Shafiqul Islam of Bangla Tribune and Kamal Hossain Talukder of bdnews24.com  conducted the polls as  election commissioners.  

Other elected office bearers include, vice-president Habibur Rahman of Ekattor TV, joint general secretary Shafiqul Islam Sabuj of Channel 24, treasurer Shamsul Islam of Naya Diganta, organizing secretary Mahmud Rakib of Ekhon TV, office secretary Faisal Ahmed of The Business Standard,  publicity and  publication secretary Mesbah Ullah Shimul of Voice7 News and five other executive committee members.

Earlier, an annual general meeting of the forum was held at the same venue with outgoing president Kazi Jebel in the chair.
