DHAKA, March 6, 2024 (BSS) - The number of volunteer blood donors of Quantum Foundation crossed half a million, as a total of 507,089 donors have donated blood on a regular and irregular basis.
The Quantum Foundation was established in 2000. The total number of volunteer blood donors has stood at 507,089 in the past 24 years, a press release of the foundation said.
The Quantum Foundation has emerged as a leading humanitarian organization for serving people. The foundation has been able to motivate new blood donors every month through its various inspiring activities.
This is possible as the Foundation, which serves humanity, can motivate over 2,000 new volunteer donors by honoring them every month.
On Tuesday (March 6), these were revealed at a reception function organised in honour of blood donors of the Silver Club, Golden Club, and Platinum Club for donating 10, 25, and 50 times in life at IDEB Bhaban in the city.
With lifelong members donating blood three times, 300 blood donors were awarded at the function.
Director General of the NGO Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office Mohammad Saidur Rahman attended the function as the chief guest.
Presided over by Quantum Foundation Voluntary Blood Donors Programme's Chief Coordinator Nahar Al Bukhari, the function was also addressed by Director Motivier of the foundation M Rezaul Hasan.
At the function, speakers said that since the inception of the journey, the Quantum Foundation has been able to save the lives of many critical patients by providing blood.
They said in the past 24 years, Quantum Foundation Lab has supplied 15,97,000 units of blood, and in case of any emergency, it provides over one lakh units of blood every year.
