DHAKA, March 6, 2024 (BSS) - Diplomatic Correspondent Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) today awarded Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Seheli Sabrin marking the International Women's Day.
State minister for primary and mass education Romana Ali handed over the award to Sabrin while attending a discussion on the theme of this year's international women's day "Investing in women: Accelerate progress" organised by DCAB at the Jatiya Press Club here.
Sabrin also director general of the foreign ministry's public diplomacy wing was chosen as the first ever official spokesperson of the ministry.
DCAB president Nurul Islam Hasib presided over the event while general secretary Ashikur Rahman Apu gave the welcome speech and executive committee member Israt Jahan Urmi moderated.
Bangla Academy literary award-winning writer Shamim Azad and boxer Tamanna Haque were special guests.
The state minister called for making more investment to increase financial capacity of women that will help them to gain decision making ability.
