TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, March 9, 2024 (BSS) - Newly appointed Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Professor Nehal Ahmed today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
After laying the wreath, the DG stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
Later, he offered prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.
A special prayer was also offered seeking longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.
The DG signed the visitors' book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.
Sheikh Kabir Hossain, President of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA), Superintendent of Police Albeli Asifa, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Golam Kabir, Tungipara Upazila Awami League President Sheikh Abul Bashar Khair, its Vice-President Md. Elias Hossain, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Municipal Awami League President Sheikh Saiful Islam, Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mainul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tungipara Police Station Khandaker Aminul Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tungipara Tourist Police Station GM Hamidur Rahman, Senior officials of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, a large number of leaders and workers of Awami League and allied organizations, among others, were present.
