DHAKA, March 10, 2024 (BSS) - Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said stern action will be taken if anyone increases prices of commodities during the holy month of Ramadan.
"Law enforcement agencies will take action if anyone increase price of commodities," he told the inauguration function of distribution of commodities at fair price during the Ramadan in city's Shyamoli.
He also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina alerted to businessmen several times, but they are not following her directives, so actions will be taken against unscrupulous traders.
Nanak, also AL Presidium Member, said the traders of different country are selling products at reduced prices during Ramadan, but our traders hike the prices of essentials during the holy month.
Replaying to a question from journalists Nanak said the people of the country are united under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, so they will not get involved in any destructive activities, orchestrated by the BNP.
