DHAKA, March 10, 2024 (BSS) - The 1st meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on Estimates of the 12th National Parliament was held at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here today.

Chairman of the committee Captain A B Tajul Islam (retd) presided over the meeting, said an official press release.

Committee members Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, Salman Fazlur Rahman, Md. Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Pran Gopal Datta, Aparajita Haque , Md. Shahriar Alam and other officials concerned attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the committee recommended completing the work of the project within the stipulated time to prevent the increasing cost of the ongoing development projects of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute and the Ministry of Railways.

The committee also recommended a project director should be given responsibility only for one project and presence of the project director in the project areas should be mandatory for round-the-clock.
