DHAKA, March 10, 2024 (BSS) – Condolence kept pouring in at the death of Prime Minister's Press Secretary and former Managing Director and Chief Editor of BSS Ihsanul Karim.

Expressing deep shock and grief at his death, a number of cabinet members recalled his contribution as the premier’s press secretary and to journalism.

In separate condolence messages, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan, Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Youth and Sports Minister Nazmul Hassan, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdus Shahid and Housing and Public Works Minster R A M Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury mourned his death.

State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Md. Abdul Wadud, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Rumana Ali, State Minister for Water Resources Zaheed Farooque and Principal Information Officer Md. Shahinoor Miah also expressed deep shock and sorrow at his death.

They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Ihsanul Karim breathed his last at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital at 8.00 pm today.

He was 74.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
