DMP commissioner visits city streets before iftar to monitor traffic situation

DHAKA, Mar 12, 2024 (BSS) – With the relentless and sincere efforts of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), city dwellers today felt a sigh of relief just before iftar as they left office to have iftar with their family members.

While visiting SAARC Fountain (Sonargaon intersection), this correspondent found that DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman was engaged in tackling traffic management and giving instructions to his fellows to ensure hassle-free movement of the city dwellers.

“I have instructed the traffic department to be engaged in ensuring smooth traffic management during the month of Ramadan, as people want to have iftar with their family members,” the DMP commissioner said.

He said that the additional commissioner (traffic) of the DMP, Md Munibur Rahman, joint commissioners, deputy commissioners, and assistant commissioners are engaged at field level to make traffic movement smooth for
the common people.

As part of the work plan of the DMP, a good number of traffic points saw a better situation today than in the previous period.

Traffic movement in Gulshan, Banani, Bijoy Sarani, and other major traffic prone areas was normal due to appropriate measures taken by the DMP and its traffic department.

The DMP Commissioner, Habibur Rahman, also had ftar with field level police personnel while performing duty.

Talking to BSS, the commissioner said that it was his duty to serve people and ensure their safe and smooth journey.

“Our police forces are always active and ready to serve people with professionalism,” Habibur added.
